I too have similar goals. Had a set back over the last year but I built my mindset back to where it was when I was on the rise. See you 1900 but I’ve set my sights on breezing last it to 2000 over the course of the next year. Mindset for us adults is super important I think. I recently talked about it in my latest blog post.
Makes a lot of sense! I will say, not that this needs to be shared in the post, but what works for me is knowing concretely what your baseline “work” is going to be for the next month, assuming you don’t have any game review. Jumping around often can be deadly to consistency.
Yeah, this is something I have been trying to take to heart. Other than tactical exercises, where I will frequently change source material, I have been trying to be more consistent with the other stuff. Meaning reading one book fully, or at least large chunks of it, then moving on to something else. Along with analyzing my games properly, including revisiting games from years ago to identify patterns that are still weak.
